The Bent Rib

You percieved that perhaps this poem
is a criticism of the female race
being bent makes the rib easier to embrace, being bent makes it adaptable
not stuck, stiff, straight
the rib is positioned close to the heart, and that defines its place
a shield for the submissive heart which worships its Lord with grace
They characterize beauty and their inner precedes their outward
Their hearts as if fragile crystals wherein lie treasures of empathy
And in their intellect lies the ability to sustain a family, a man, a small world of happiness
with God's Will and Mercy.
A general perception of animosity create by women's lib
the feminist movement served only to make things worse.
A switching of roles
Some women trying to settle the score
The bent rib tried to straighten itself
And broke!

"Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard... " [The Noble Qur'an 4:34]

"And among His Signs is this,
that He created for you mates from among yourselves,
that ye may dwell in tranquillity with them,
and He has put love and mercy between your (hearts):
verily in that are Signs for those who reflect."

[The Noble Qur'an 30:21]

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said,

“ Paradise is at the feet of the mother.”
"And We have enjoined on man (to be good) to his parents: in travail upon travail did his mother bear him, and in years twain was his weaning: (hear the command), "Show gratitude to Me and to thy parents: to Me is (thy final) Goal." [The Noble Qur'an 31:14]

"Treat women kindly, for women were created from a rib. The part of it that is most bent is the top. If you try to straighten it, you will break it, and if you leave it alone, it will remain bent. Therefore treat women kindly"

Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said:

"It is a fine thing when a believer praises and thanks Allah if good comes to him, and praises Allah and shows endurance if smitten by affliction. The believer is rewarded for everything, even for the morsel he raises to his wife's mouth."

And they (women) have rights (over their husbands as regards living expenses) similar (to those of their husbands) over them (as regards obedience and respect) to what is reasonable," [The Holy Qur'an 2:228]

Bahz bin Hakim said that Mu'awiyah bin Haydah Al-Qushayri related that his grandfather said, "O Messenger of Allah! What is the right the wife of one of us has?" The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said: "To feed her when you eat, buy her clothes when you buy for yourself and to refrain from striking her on the face, cursing her or staying away from her except in the house." (Abu Dawud 2:606)

Waki' related that Ibn 'Abbas said, "I like to take care of my appearance for my wife just as I like for her to take care of her appearance for me. This is because Allah says:
"And they (women) have rights similar (to those of their husbands) over them to what is reasonable." This statement is reported by Ibn Jarir and Abu Hatim. (At-Tabari 4:532, Ibn Abi Hatim 2:750)

Muslim reported that Jabir said that Allah's Messenger (p.b.u.h) said, "Fear Allah regarding your women, for you have taken them by Allah's covenant and were allowed to enjoy with them sexually by Allah's Words. You have the right on them that they do not allow anyone you dislike to sit on your mat. If the do that, then discipline them leniently. They have the right to be spent on and to be bought clothes in what is reasonable." (Sahih Muslim 2:886)
