Free of these

Have I settled to the ground
lowered my standard
to accept the world around me
attempting to be reasonable
pull me down to what
you think is possible
but really I don’t see
how you cannot reach the skies
if you have due determination

I really do
I really want to excel and soar
At a pace beyond all else
I feel this need to achieve
To grow and to contribute
Its eating the heart of me
Its like a need, a hunger
That remains unfulfilled
I have tried

I have tried to go far
To cut past all my restraints
The tears and the cries of incapacity
Really nothing such does exist
Its all in your head
Feel free to achieve
And go beyond these
Life’s not worth living until
You have been free
Free of these
