Shed not blood on earth, waste not lives yet to be lived

Rid us of your inhumane acts fuelled by selfishness and triggered by greed

We desire to live in harmony, remove our shackles and let us live in peace

Put your weapons to rust and put an end to the vehemence

For tired, we are of hearing the piercing screams of the mothers

And of burying our sons. We spend our days counting the number of the living dead

And fall to the floor jaded by a war that bled

Wrecked by the bloodshed and tortured by the burn

Our wounds profusely bleed - wounds, which only time can heal

Voices in our heads only serenity can erase

Our hearts have bled enough

Our souls, tired of suffering an eternally tormenting loss

And an unforgettable past, our world blanketed by clouds of smoke

And flooded by tears of the distressed

Rest our heads on our pillows sans the fear of being shredded by night

Remove the shadows looming atop to kill the demons that torment our nights

Shut our eyelids to awaken to a morn of promise and hope

Let us live- in repose!
